KasiCode ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and other applicable South African data protection legislation.

Account information: When you create an account or purchase a plugin, we collect your name, email address, and billing information.

License and activation data: We collect domain names where plugins are activated, plugin versions, and WordPress version information to manage licenses and deliver updates.

Payment information: Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card details. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment data handling.

Usage data: We collect anonymised usage data including page views, plugin download counts, and support interactions to improve our products and services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Process purchases and deliver plugin licenses
  • Provide automatic plugin updates
  • Manage your account and license activations
  • Provide customer support
  • Send transactional emails (purchase confirmations, license expiry notices)
  • Improve our products and services

We will not use your information for purposes beyond those stated here without your explicit consent.

3. Legal Basis for Processing (POPIA)

Under POPIA, we process your personal information on the following grounds:

  • Contract: Processing necessary to fulfil our obligations when you purchase a plugin or create an account.
  • Legitimate interest: Processing necessary for product improvement and security.
  • Consent: Where required, we obtain your consent before processing (e.g., marketing communications).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

  • Stripe: For payment processing.
  • Amazon Web Services: For hosting and infrastructure (data processed in accordance with AWS's data processing agreement).
  • Email service providers: For transactional email delivery.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you close your account, we will delete your personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.

You have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Object to the processing of your personal information
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, and regular security audits.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for site functionality and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Analytics data is collected in anonymised form.
